Eligibility Requirements
We are a service program within the AmeriCorps network. To be eligible for AmeriCorps, you must be:
A U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Be at least 18 years old
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Pass a comprehensive criminal history check.
Note: AmeriCorps members serving vulnerable populations such as youth or seniors must be able to pass local, state, and national background and sex offender registry checks.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Collaborate successfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Exhibit a strong sense of respect and sensitivity, especially when engaging in discussions with community members on challenging topics such as the expenses related to flood damage and when evaluating residents' homes for crisis effects.
Maintain professional communication with program staff and community partners.
Ensure timely responses to emails within designated work hours.

Expectations and Responsibilities
Members will be required to engage in the outdoor environment. This includes and is not limited to rain, snow, and heat.*
Member's Performance will be evaluated based on their ability to adhere to guidelines.
Members will be required to submit bi-weekly timesheets, complete data reports in a timely manner, and submit Great Stories reports quarterly.
Collect evaluation information and identify in-home hazards associated with health impacts, including those requiring intervention.
Distribute participant questionnaires
Conduct visual inspections to identify potential hazards, including basement flooding;
Administer participant questionnaires

Determine various indoor asthma triggers
Assess basic home protection measures against fire or intrusion.
*In the case of extreme weather, members will only be outdoors at the Program Director's discretion.
