Flooding & Air Quality impacts on Detroit Residents

Increased extreme rain events and an overburdened combined stormwater-sewer system put Detroit residents at a higher risk for flooding damage. These public health emergencies can have cascading effects including financial burden, emotional distress, and lasting health risks.

AmeriCorps READY was created to help Detroit residents in the most effected and flood prone areas: 48214 and 48215. Our research study tracks the impacts of flooding, and provides Detroit residents with home interventions that improve their home’s flood resiliency and air quality.
